Udo Nöger - 22 Hours in Dreams

IMG_4098

Two more weeks to visit the exhibition "22 Hours in Dreams" with new works by Udo Nöger in our Palm Springs Showroom. Raw and unfiltered, with charcoal on wood, this body of work gives immediate access to Nöger’s creativity and his visual library. It is the polar opposite of his famous and sought-after translucent white-on-white ethereal paintings, of which we are offering five large-scale examples that have never been exhibited before.

Our Palm Springs Showroom is located across from the museum in the same building as the Kimpton Hotel "The Rowan". The entrance is on the ground level next to Julian Voss-Andreae's landmark sculpture "Isabelle" in the pedestrian walkway between Museum Way and Tahquitz Canyon Way.

Due to a very busy season, we often require our Palm Springs staff to work in Palm Desert. Please call ahead before you visit to make sure the gallery is open.

The title "22 Hours in Dreams" originates from a quote by Salvador Dali, referring to his creative process: “Give me two hours a day of activity, and I’ll take the other twenty-two in dreams.” Nöger discovers his imagery in moments of stillness, meditation, and dreams. He draws on the Subconscious and a wealth of images that accumulated along his rich life. The manifestation of these compositions on the canvas or board take little time compared to the decades they took to develop, thus the comparison to Dali’s two hours of activity versus 22 hours of dreaming.
