This stunning triptych by Manzur Kargar, the Afghanistan-born, Berlin based German painter juxtaposes the glamorous beauty of magazine cover models with visual elements that appear post modern, but are, upon closer look, enlarger blood cells. It becomes a modern-day version of the art historical theme of the memento mori, the reminder that beauty and life on earth is fleeting.
