Sculptor Nicholas Auen’s work combines classic artistic methods with contemporary technology to create stunning three-dimensional wall pieces that trick the eye and beg closer inspection. Starting out as true-scale pencil drawings, his art is then digitized and intricately cut into sheets of aluminum, before receiving various immaculate finishes. The artist’s professional career began at a mere 19 years old as he studied under American Studio Glass artist Therman Statom, developing skills in glass blowing, painting, ceramics, and metallic materials. He was also honored to study with artists such as Dale Chihuly and Jun Kaneko.
Hohmann is proud to offer current pieces inspired by the reflective properties, currents, and complex depths within water, surfaced with glistening chrome. They are available online and in the gallery.
