On Friday, October 13th (oh, don't be superstitious!), we are pleased to present works by the well-known painter who made Palm Springs his home. He will be present for the artist reception from 5-7 at our showroom in Palm Springs across from the Palm Springs Art Museum.
Robert Dunahay became known for his meticulously painted palm trees that have sold into collections worldwide. After he had made Palm Springs his permanent home, he was inspired by the landscape and started experimenting with sand as a medium. This evolved into a separate body of work that departed from the palm trees. Elements of Modernism, Architecture, and Pop Culture find their way into these mostly abstract paintings that explore crystalline sand and holographic pigment as a medium instead of traditional paint.
Although he is a Palm Springs resident, meeting him in person is a rare opportunity, and we hope you can make it. A separate email invitation will follow.
