The American sculptor Woods Davy, renowned for his innovative and gravity-defying sculptures, was born in the vibrant city of Washington, DC, on October 6, 1949. His journey into the world of art began with a solid educational foundation, as he pursued a Bachelor of Fine Arts degree, which he successfully obtained in 1972 from the prestigious University of North Carolina, Chapel Hill. Eager to further hone his craft and deepen his understanding of the artistic process, Davy continued his studies and achieved a Master of Fine Arts degree in 1975 from the University of Illinois, Champaign-Urbana, a place known for its rich academic environment and commitment to fostering creative talent. Today, Davy resides and creates his remarkable works in the artistic hub of Venice, California, where he continues to push the boundaries of sculpture and inspire audiences with his unique vision.
