Two new sculptures have been added to downtown Palm Springs' ever-growing art scene.

"Resonance" and "Family Group," two bronze sculptures that reach around 10-feet-tall, have been installed in front of the Kimpton Rowan Palm Springs Hotel, giving passersby more artwork to take in and photo opportunities to capture.

The two sculptures were made by internationally recognized artist jd hansen and are part of a temporary public art exhibition presented in collaboration with Grit Development and HOHMANN Fine Art.

The installation features "Resonance," a 10-foot-tall sculpture, and "Family Group," standing at 8 feet tall on its base and reaching approximately 10 feet in overall height. "Resonance" features two tall figures looking at each other and holding hands, aptly, right next to the "PS I Love You" art piece. "Family Group" brings together five figures who all seemingly start from the same base and expand upward to form their own body, much like a family lineage of sorts.

Before arriving in Palm Springs, these two works were featured in a curated temporary exhibition at the Four Seasons Hotel Firenze in Florence.

Where are the new Palm Springs sculptures?

The sculpture “Resonance” is now on display near the Kimpton Rowan in the heart of downtown. The 10-foot-tall work by jd hansen is a temporary public art exhibition in downtown Palm Springs, Calif., April 23, 2026.

The two new sculptures are located by The Rowan at 100 W. Tahquitz Canyon Way.

How long will the sculptures be in Palm Springs?

The two new pieces will be on display for about a year, according to a press release.

Other artworks located in downtown Palm Springs
Downtown Palm Springs houses a host of artworks. Some pieces include:

"Baby" by David Černý: A controversial piece that previously featured several faceless babies in a pit across from the Palm Springs Art Museum. Now, one piece remains at The Rowan.

"Meat" by Černý: Depicts a car-shaped slab of meat that appears to be stretching downward from a nail. Located at The Rowan.

"Isabelle" by Julian Voss-Andreae: A stainless steel sculpture of a woman located in between The Rowan and Il Corso.

"Forever Marilyn" by Seward Johnson: The iconic — and controversial — 26-foot-tall piece that depicts Marilyn Monroe’s iconic pose from the 1955 film "The Seven Year Itch." Located in Downtown Park.

Bronze statues of local icons including former Mayor Sonny Bono (located at Plaza Mercado) and Lucille Ball (located at East Tahquitz Canyon Way and South Palm Canyon Drive).
